Simon Ratcliffe
Until recently Simon was a senior strategic planner and management consultant with over 20 years analytical and transformational experience in both the private and public sectors focussed on energy. He spearheaded the establishment of ASPO in South Africa based on his research into peak oil and climate change. He has just moved to the UK to take up and Energy Advisor position with the Department for International Development. He is a committed team leader with a high level of professional integrity. Within ASPO South Africa he has undertaken a number of strategic projects putting peak oil into the heart of national strategic policy making. Together with other members of an ASPO South Africa team he was commissioned by the South African Presidency to do the long-term energy scenarios for South Africa. He recently worked on the energy elements of the long-term transport masterplan for South Africa. He has been involved in developmental work for many years and has worked for the United Nations Development Programme. He has an MSc from the University of London and an MBA from the University of Warwick. |
